When running through Lancaster County it’s wise to look down occasionally to avoid stepping in road apples left behind by horses pulling buggies. Two running events in Lancaster County have teamed up to celebrate runners who come to our rural area. Runners who finish the Garden Spot Village Half Marathon in March and the Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon in September will take home a unique piece of Lancaster County, the Road Apple Award.
To qualify for the Road Apple Award, you must run BIH & GSV in the same calendar year.
From Drop To Finish
Made from authentic road apples – yes, poop! – that has been sanitized, purified, and petrified, this special award is sure to remind you of your time spent in Lancaster County.
